What is a Parent’s Association?
The Paragon Team Parent’s Association (PTPA) is a non-profit organization for our Traveling Teams. This organization raises money for the travelling team gymnasts to offset some of the fees that come with a traveling team.
Can my child join a Team even if she does not want to compete?
The XCEL and USAG teams are train-to-compete ONLY and therefore all gymnasts on those teams must be ready and willing to compete. However, the Panther In-house Team offers gymnasts the choice to compete or not.
How does my child try-out for Team?
Try-outs must be scheduled online, by phone, or by email. Drop-ins are not available. Your child will be paired one-on-one with one of our Team coaches, who will evaluate your gymnast on each of the 4 Olympic events (Floor, Balance Beam, Vault, and Uneven Bars). At the end of the try-out, parents will be directed to the office to discuss their child's potential team and level.
Can boys join the team?
Yes! Our Panther In-house team is open to boys ages 6 – 18! Boys training and competition will include: modified floor routines, modified beam routines, vault, and uneven bars. Pommels, Rings, Parallel Bars, and Single High Bar are not available.
